Problem Statement:

Adolescents girls and young women, orphans and vulnerable children, adolescents and young people living with HIV, People leaving with disabilities for years have been the main victims of sexual reproductive health violation,maternal health rights violation, gender based violation including early marriages, Female genital mutilation, school dropout as a result of their vulnerability both socially,mentally,economically and physically.
As Care lifters Youth Kenya, being an Adolescents and young people affected by HIV(AYPLHIV) community based organization, we are determined to be at the front line on Sexual reproductive health rights advocacy and maternal health through all community social platforms.

Innovation Description:

By targeting the source we can easily achieve early control and management of new HIV infections, early marriages, unplanned pregnancies and all sexual reproductive health rights violation.
We have a direct target community of more than 300 adolescents and young people affected by HIV in west pokot county.
Under close management of young HIV activists and advocates, county care and treatment implementing partners, county Aids and STI control office, county department of Reproductive health and county department of health.
Through this number, we are certain to reach general population starting with all young people through school mission, youth camps, youth seminars, campus tour, organized youth fun days and festivals.
Supported directly by current county care and treatment implementing partners, data protection is maximized.

Uniqueness and Innovation:

Our innovation directly points the source and the roles they can play in elevating greater achievements in sexual reproductive health rights , maternal health and other social health advocacy.
Through direct engagement of HIV activist and advocates, aligning with the recently launched Rapid Results Improvement(RRI) in #endaidsinchildren and #endtriplethreat . Sexual reproductive health rights and maternal health cuts across all this initiatives.
We believe we can deliver as the main victims . VICTIMS ARE ALSO HEROES,THEY HAVE SO MUCH TO OFFER FROM EXPERIENCE, it takes courage and self determination to fight community STIGMA and discrimination at all cost.
We believe our innovation will change the story and mark a new era in eradicating harmful and abusive cultural practices, Social health related stigma and promoting maternal health.

Impact and Scalability:

Our innovation can be adopted by large general population through scaling up our catchment area, and creating a room for meaningful community engagement through school mission, campus tour, youth seminars, youth camps, planned youth fun days and festivals, use of all social media platforms including youth redio and TV shows.
Through our management team,active partnership with other youth led comunity based organization,Faith based organization, county department of health, higher learning institution and other stake holders will be considered an added opportunity to upscale our innovative approaches towards achieving our goals.

Implementation Plan:

Our scale of first approach is to equip Identified Young HIV activists across all sub counties in west pokot county and equip them with knowledge and skills to handle community sensitivity, Human reproductive health rights and human rights in general and maternal health sensitization.Within a short period of first two weeks.
Through county public health department identification of active Young community health care workers, young( TOTs) Trainers of Trainees and take them through sexual reproductive health rights and maternal health sensitization within a short period of two weeks.
We would consider maximum use of available resources to support full implementation of the program.
