Innovation TitleJITAHIDI NA AFYA YAKO
Focus AreaPromoting Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), including maternal health
Problem Statement:

In the project area, SRH literacy continues to negatively impact adolescents. The policy framework for providing sexual education in learning institutions has limited the passage of information to young teenagers in light of early sexual debuts. Lack of youth-friendly services and the inaccessibility of contraceptives continue to pose a great threat to maternal health, family planning, and the safe use of contraceptives. Lack of information centers on SRH, especially in addressing misinformation that comes with SRHR. In light of peer educators and programs running SRH issues, the majority lack information on issues of SRHR, thus requiring a capacity-building initiative.
