Innovation TitleInnovative space: Building government space to help gender based violence victims.
Focus AreaCombating Gender-Based Violence (GBV)
Problem Statement:

WeTheVoice recognizes that unmet family planning, Gender-Based violence and maternal death are challenges that require a comprehensive approach. Lack of government safe spaces where individuals can receive support ,education on such topic and resources, exacerbates these issues. Hence we aim to develop innovative government safe spaces that advantageously tackle unmet family planning, GBV, and completely eradicate maternal death. Our focus will ensure no one will be forced to take loans or even assume that it's not a must they go to these places which causes mental disorder and even trauma. Those available are all private which tend to be expensive.

Innovation Description:

We are aspiring to provide mental health to the society and awareness in the rural areas where they can easily access the public safe spaces country wide. Hence it will be more convenient for those going through this problems to find an affordable safe space places without being hindered by high charges which favoring even those less fortunate. We aim to addressing the victims, to promote gender equality and well-being of the women and the family. Government safe spaces will provide a refuge for GBV victims hence can seek support, protection and legal assistance. In addition educational programs and awareness campaigns will be conducted to foster a culture of respect and equality. By providing accessible, inclusive and secure environment to all, this spaces will serve as catalyst for positive change and transformation within communities.

Uniqueness and Innovation:

Our uniqueness is that we are trying to bring by government safe space which represent a holistic and innovative approach to combat GBV, unmet family planning and maternal death. In the rural areas it a norm that the residence of the area try to help their pregnant women due to limited medical places and that causes endangering of the mother and the child/children during the birth process. Family planning is a taboo in the rural, they say it ruins the worm and make the men weaker hence few use it or even know about such things. This knowledge will help the youths and the women control their birth rate and also prevent poor nurturing of their children due to too many children around. This safe spaces will not only endower individuals with the tools to lead the empowered lives but also contribute to the betterment of society as a whole.

Impact and Scalability:

Implementing government safe spaces will have profound and far-reaching positive impact in the communities. This safe spaces provide a supportive and conducive environment for survivors of GBV, furthermore it will empower women and individuals to make informed decisions about their reproductive health, and also it will also reduce maternal mortality rates. This solution will be adaptable in a larger scale if there is collaboration between the government , non-governmental organizations and local communities. Public awareness campaigns can also be conducted to educate people about the safe spaces, erasing stigma and encouraging individuals to seek assistance from the right resources. Moreover leveraging technology, such as hotlines can extend the reach of these safe spaces providing immediate support to those in need.

Implementation Plan:

We came up with four Implementation plans which are;

1. Research and planning – Conducting a comprehensive need assessment in target communities .
2. Infrastructure setup – Identify and prepare safe space location, ensuring they are accessible and secure.
3. Staff training and recruitment – Recruit and train health care professionals and provide specialized training on gender sensitivity.
4. Launch and awareness – Officially launched safe spaces targeting communities and schools.

Required recourses ;

Financial – Funding for infrastructure setup.
Technical – Technology for data collection and analysis tools.
Human – Train health care professionals.

Challenges and how we plan to mitigate them;
