Most of our youths are facing mental health challenges due to substance use disorders, stress , depression and anxiety,as a result of this youths have involved in different cases and the main leading being sexual harassment, rape, defilement, and sexual abuse .All these are gender based violence related cases. There's need to keep the track of mental health of these youths on set we believe if someone is mentally stable cases like the above mentioned ones won't be happening on a rapid percentage. The program will address the need for youths to know the relevance of mental health

The program will foster on senstization and awareness, campaigns and education on how the mental health can contribute to the development and the healthy welfare of the communities . Through the program main cause of gender based violence as mental health will be senstized, and elaborated on youths. Youths will be trained on mechanisms to curb gender based violence like training them on lifeskills, moral reformation skills, Gender equity, rights and humanity. The five wards of changamwe ( airport, portreitz, changamwe, chaani and Kipevu). We will train a first bunch of 200 youths later on assess them her the best 50 to go for further training as T.O.Ts then they will be able to train other leads , among our target leads are other youth hub networks, baraza youth boards , wazee wa mitaa , CHVs and other health promoters after they will be able to train others. The program will foster on three key areas, awareness, training and referrals. For substance use disorders the program will tackle the prevention and awareness stage and this will be facilitated for by a verified and accredited health profession in that area, stress management and mechanics on handling stress by a health or professional coucellor, and then how those key related areas are the main course of gender based violence that will be handled by professional facilitator as well . After these stages Someone will be able to be called a T.O..T , will link them to MOH for doing an assessment and accreditial practical exam before they are officially declared as T.O.Ts. they will then be ambassadors of change to communities, serve on the purpose and goal of combating gender based violence and it's related impacts. It will be a viral way of handling gender based violence depending on our strategy.

The uniqueness of our program is that we will be handling like five course problems at ago and that's Mental Health, Stress management, Life skills, Gender based violence and Human rights and gender equality. The program will both be impactive on skills and also create a living for the youths involved, the stipend will cater for their needs, the skills will also be used to facilitate in different programs and it will be a job to earn with as a facilitator, the mentorship program will focus on both moral reformation and imperting youths with lifeskills helping in employment search and credibility.The program also empower women and it will be a good sign of diversification, we will include minorities and people with disabilities, local administrators , youth hub networks. The use of both technology and physical strategies of senstization and awareness will cater for everyone in need of information.

Mental Health senstization and awareness is a general problem in the world, and the program addressing it is an exact impact that it will cover a bigger scale more so it's composed of Substances use disorders (SUDs) consisting of marijuana consumption, chewing khat, Alcohol (mnazi etc) which are key factors in causing Gender Based Violence. It's a national threat to the youths obviously the program's impact will serve a wider coverage. The fact that it's a program on gender based violence related to defilement, rape and gender violation cases it will address issues on rights and duties of a good citizen, leadership and empowerment, prevention of law break and all these are programs that every NGO and Government at general fighting for to curb both human crime rates and promote a sustainable and most convenient environment for every citizen. Development is hindered due to uncomfortability to work due to gender related issues, Health, Human rights and many other departments are fighting the same threat . It shows how the program is a need to solve . The population of Kenya is mostly of youths and women and the target of this program is youths and women.

For this program we will need financial resources that's to pay facilitators, hire venues, provide logistics, transport reembursement to trainees, welfare to cater for break fast , lunch and evening tea, water, and mostly writing materials. The program will be a Four week based curriculum, with components of Life skills , SUDs , Rights and democracy and so on. It will be implemented in two sessions that's the first session of one week to find out the sharp leaders to be selected for T.O.T training, then the T.O.T training for two weeks, and one week for assessments. We foresee a challenge of resources but we will partner with other organizations like Swahilipothub, GOYN, Mombasa county, SHOFCO, MOH, to ensure we get enough support for the program incase the funds we get from you is not capable enough to serve the project. We will ensure atleast out of the 50 youths to be trained as the T.O.Ts are each ward is represented with 10 participants as representatives and gender , pwd, minorities will be all inclusive. Another challenge we may likely face is the turnout on passion and interest rather than on monetary benefit and this will be handled through critical selection process based on application, interview and historical background of the person interested, basically here the consideration will be given to those with a history and experience in the field of community leadership, youth engagements and women from women groups,and success stories. The project is to serve the people.
